St. Martin-on-the-Hill

The Anglican church, St Martin-on-the-Hill, was built in 1862–63 as the parish church of South Cliff. It was designed by George Frederick Bodley. Much of the decoration and stained glass was completed by William Morris and co. The altar wall displays The Adoration of the Magi, by Edward Burne-Jones and the paintings on the organ case were done by John Roddam Spencer Stanhope. The ten panels in the pulpit were painted by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Morris and Ford Madox Brown.
